Compton City leaders honored the two Compton ladies and Los Angeles County Sheriffs Deputies at Tuesday nights council meeting for their quick actions that saved an infant’s life last week.

c00f18c9-c40c-4989-a9b5-fb89917493b0Mayor Pro Tem Janna Zurita presented Evangelina McClary and Angelica Blount, the two sisters that heard the infants cries, with the City of Compton’s “Certificate of Recognition”.

Deputies Adam Collette and David Perry were dispatched and found the abandoned infant under rubble along the Compton Creek.  They were presented with the Meritorious Service Award by Mayor Aja Brown upon recommendation from Mayor Pro Tem Janna Zurita.

The Compton heroes received claps of praise for their decision to rescue an abandoned baby came straight for their hearts.

“I was very nervous.  When he pulled out the baby I said thank God,” Evangelina McClary said.
